National Adoption Day

Aquarium of the Americas

New Orleans, Louisiana

November 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM

Event Details:

In the United States, there are 518,000 children in foster care. Over 114,000 of these children are currently eligible to be adopted by permanent and loving families. In Louisiana there are 5,113 children in foster care. National Adoption Day will serve to raise the public awareness of the ever-growing need for adoptive homes for these children. Your involvement will help place adoption in the spotlight and help us reach families who may choose to adopt.

In Orleans Parish, foster care children and their new parents will have their adoptions finalized. Juvenile court judges, pro bono lawyers, foster care professionals, child advocates and community volunteers will also be there, working together to expedite the adoption process. Television, radio and newspaper reporters will be invited to cover this celebration. We promise that this is a fun-filled celebration you will not easily forget.
