On November 2, 2012, Cowlitz County will celebrate its 7th annual adoption day as part of the National Adoption Day. On that day, 15 children will be adopted into their forever families. Each child will receive a personalized gift bag and a single red rose to give to their new mother.

This year the Cowlitz County Administration Building will be used for this exciting event.

A special guest speaker from Children’s Administration will speak about the need for adoptive families in Washington State. And 9 year old adoptee Macey Lynn Tenison will touch the hearts of all in the room by singing an original song in honor of National Adoption Day.

While the families wait for their turn with the judge, they will have the opportunity to participate in several different activities. Craft stations will be set up at each table, and a toy box for the younger children.

Not only will the local Children and Family Services employees, CASA staff and local foster parents help with the set up hours before the event, and the clean up afterwards, they will also provide literally, hundreds of delicious cookies for refreshments.
