Event Details:

National Adoption Day was created to finalize adoptions for children in the foster care system. On National Adoption Day, courts throughout the United States finalize adoptions of children who have been legally freed. National Adoption Day also gives local child welfare agencies, courts, and advocacy organizations the opportunity to raise awareness about children who remain in foster care waiting for permanent, loving families. It was first celebrated in 2000 with support from the Alliance for Children’s Rights, the Freddie Mac Foundation, the Dave Thomas Foundation and others.
