National Adoption Day Celebration: A Fun Day For Families That Have Adopted

National Adoption Day is being celebrated Nation Wide on November 17, 2012 and will be celebrated on Oahu at the Honolulu Zoo. The event will provide free admission to the zoo, lunch, entertainment, activities, and celebration for all adoptive families on Oahu. The event is being organized by Hawaii Adoption and Permanency Alliance (HAPA) which is a group of individuals and agency representatives within the adoption community who began meeting together in May 1997 for the common goal of promoting, supporting and maintaining permanency through “FACE” for children, youth, adults, and families. “FACE” stands for: Facilitation, Advocacy, Collaboration, Education.
The purpose of National Adoption Day is to celebrate the joys of adoption and encourage more families and individuals to provide children permanent families through adoption. Mayor Peter Carlisle will attend and present a NAD proclamation in support of Adoption.
