Heart Gallery of West Virginia Exhibit. To mark National Adoption Month, the Scarborough Library is featuring the Heart Gallery of West Virginia, on display in the Main Lobby and Reading Room through the month of November.
The Heart Gallery is a traveling photography exhibit that features portraits of West Virginia foster children who are eligible for adoption. All of the children featured in the gallery are from West Virginia. The portraits are created by professional photographers donating their time and talent to support children and youth in a forever family.
The Heart Gallery project was founded by the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department in 2001 to help children in care reach permanency with an adoptive family. This event now displays in all 50 states.
The Heart Gallery is presented by Mission West Virginia's Frameworks Initiative.
