On November 8, 2013, Cowlitz County will celebrate its 8th annual adoption day as part of the National Adoption Day. On that day, we will celebrate all the adoptions finalized in 2013, and honor 6 other local children from the foster care system are joined with their forever families.
Each child adopted that day will receive a personalized gift bag and a single pink rose to present to their new mother.
This year the Cowlitz County Administration Building will be used for this exciting event.
Special guest speakers from Children’s Administration, Natalie Green and County Commissioner James Misner will speak about the need for adoptive families in Washington State. And 10 year old adoptee Macey Tenison will touch the hearts of all in the room by singing an original song in honor of National Adoption Day.
While the families wait for their turn with the judge, children will enjoy a special crafts and treats at their family table.
There will also be a raffle for exciting door prizes.
Not only will the local Children and Family Services employees, CASA staff and local foster parents help with the set up hours before the event, and the clean up afterwards, they will also provide literally, hundreds of delicious cookies for refreshments.
