King County National Adoption Day 2017

November 17th, 2017 will mark the 15th annual National Adoption Day Celebration for King County Superior Court. For the past several years, KCSC has taken part in the joyous celebration of adoptive families and the collective effort to raise awareness of the thousands of children waiting in foster care. National Adoption Day began in November of 2000 with a small group across the nation participating, but King County quickly jumped aboard. Since then, every Friday before Thanksgiving, this special day is dedicated to finalizing these ‘forever families’ in as many as 400 individual events across the United States. This year, Judge Dean Lum is spearheading the effort to make year number fifteen a celebration to remember. Efforts to have our annual “special guest”, entertainment, goodie bags for the kids and refreshments for this special occasion are well under way. This is a free, public event and everyone is invited! So mark your calendars to save the date: Date: Friday, November 17th, 2017 Time: 11:45am - 1pm Where: 516 Third Avenue, E-942 Seattle, WA 98104 For more information on King County’s 15th Annual National Adoption Day, or if you’d like to help, please contact the King County Adoption Paralegal at: 206-477-1493 or SCAdoptionParalegal@kingcounty.gov.
