An adoption celebration was held at the Larue County Courthouse when a sibling gorup of 5 children were adopted. Cake and punch was served.

Louisiana's Call for Adoption
Saturday November, 16, 1:00 pm at Louisiana State Capitol Steps
On November 16, Adoption advocates, judges, parents, professionals, attorneys, volunteers, etc will gather on the capitol steps in Baton Rouge to raise awareness of the 485 children in foster care in Louisiana who are waiting for adoptive homes. The participants will hold a sign with the name and age of a waiting child, such as "JOHN", age 16, or "Keisha" age 12, on 8 X 10 card stock, either pink or blue depending on the child. We will have a short program and will have resource tables for adoption information in the state.
22nd Judicial District Court
Wednesday November, 6, 9:00 am at Covington, Louisiana
The 22nd Judicial District Court, Family Court, will be hosting its 2nd Annual Adoption Celebration in St. Tammany Parish on Wednesday, November 4, 2013. Adoption finalizations will be conducted by Judge Dawn Amacker and Judge Mary Devereux, followed by a reception honoring the new families.
2013 National Adoption Day Event

The Region will partner with CASA, a local judge and the Mayor to host our annual National Adoption Day event which will be held at City Hall. There will be refreshments, balloon release, entertainment, etc.

In the United States, there are 518,000 children in foster care. Over 114,000 of these children are currently eligible to be adopted by permanent and loving families. In Louisiana there are 5,113 children in foster care. National Adoption Day will serve to raise the public awareness of the ever-growing need for adoptive homes for these children. Your involvement will help place adoption in the spotlight and help us reach families who may choose to adopt.
2013 National Adoption Day Commemoration
Thursday November, 21, 9:00 am at Anne Arundel County Circuit Courthouse
The Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County will host a National Adoption Day event on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 9:00 AM. The Honorable Nancy Davis-Loomis will preside over the adoptions that morning in courtroom 4C. The children being adopted range in age from 11 months – 15 years. Nine adoptions will be finalized, joining children with their forever families. At the county courthouse, Robert Duckworth, Clerk of the Court, will address the families at the finalization proceedings. Mr. Duckworth was adopted at the age of 5, so this event is very meaningful to him. Former Court Administrator, Robert Wallace will perform bagpipe music to begin the festivities. Following the adoption proceedings, there will be light refreshments in the fourth floor gallery. Local adoption agencies will be on hand to provide information about their services.
8th Annual National Adoption Day Celebration

The Bar Association of Baltimore City, the Baltimore City Department of Social Services and the Circuit Court of Baltimore City are holding our 8th Annual National Adoption Day celebration on November 23, 2013. We will be finalizing approximately 50 adoptions and holding a dessert reception with live entertainment including balloon artists, face painters, arts and crafts and coffee, juice and cake for all. Each adopted child receives a personalized gift bag packed with age appropriate toys and their new siblings receive a goody bag, too!
