LOS ANGELES – National Adoption Day 2010 will be held on Saturday, November 20. Celebrated across the United States, more than 350 community events are held each year to finalize the adoptions of children in foster care and celebrate adoptive families.
In all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam, the widespread cause will include events ranging from courtroom adoptions to local celebrations.
More than 4,500 children adopted from foster care this year celebrated finding their forever families during the 10th Annual National Adoption Day on November 21. After a decade, the number of children in foster care adopted on National Adoption Day totals nearly 30,000. Los Angeles hosted a celebration with Actress Nia Vardalos.
