November 19th, 2021 will mark the 20th National Adoption Day Celebration for King County Superior Court. For the past several years, KCSC has taken part in the joyous celebration of adoptive families and the collective effort to raise awareness of the thousands of children waiting in foster care.
National Adoption Day began in November of 2000 with a small group across the nation participating, but King County quickly jumped aboard. Since then, every Friday before Thanksgiving, this special day is dedicated to finalizing these ‘forever families’ in as many as 345 individual events across the United States.
This year, Judge Dean Lum is spearheading the effort to make year number twenty a celebration to remember. Efforts to have our annual “special guest” & goodie bags for the kids are well underway.
This is a free, public event and everyone is invited! So please mark your calendars to save the date:
