National Adoption Day will be celebrated in Washington State on November 20th, the Friday before Thanksgiving. There are currently over 1,000 children in foster care in Washington who are legally free and in need of belonging to new families. It remains important for us to raise awareness by recognizing, celebrating, and commemorating these children and adoptive families and to spread the word to potential adoptive parents that these children need homes. National Adoption Day is how we celebrate these children and their forever families.
