Each year the State of Michigan celebrates National Adoption Day in November. On this day, courtrooms across the state are filled with happiness and celebration as more than 100 adoptions are finalized, uniting children with their new families.
In Kalamazoo County, more than 500 children are waiting for their permanent, loving home to call their own each year. The average time these children spend in foster care prior to being adopted is 760 days.
On November 3rd, 2022, Kalamazoo County 9th Circuit Court plans to give these children their own special day to remember for years to come. Due to the pandemic, we have been unable to celebrate this monumental day since 2019, however, this year we look forward to hosting this celebration for many families.
