On behalf of the King County Superior Court, the Washington Commission on Children in Foster Care and our numerous national and local partners, we invite you to attend our 22nd annual celebration of National Adoption Day on Friday, November 17th, 2023.
Our Court will be one of dozens across the country finalizing thousands of adoptions and celebrating all families that adopt. In addition, King County joins Pierce, Snohomish, Thurston, Yakima, Chelan, Clark, Island, Spokane and Benton/Franklin Counties in celebrating this very special day. This year, the Mariner Moose will be back to entertain young and old. Last year, we finalized 18 foster child adoptions, and we expect more children and parents anxiously waiting for their adoptions to be finalized this year.
As was the case the last twenty-one years, we expect that the air will be filled with laughter, and you can bet there will be many joyful tears. Judges, lawyers, adoption advocates and foster care professionals will be in attendance, making our celebration complete. Through events like this throughout the country, we hope to encourage families to step forward to adopt all children, but particularly those in our foster-care system.
